Information for pupils
“Some children think history is boring. But I am here to prove them wrong.”
This is your chance to become a journalist reporting on fascinating events that took place throughout the history of England. It’s an opportunity that will be hard to turn down.
Why are we so interested in history? The past is packed with exciting stories, all about real people and true events.
Our reporters go out and come back with their notebooks full of tales of action and adventure, gruesome accounts of hangings and murder and sad stories of children forced out to work at a very young age.
So this is YOUR chance to join my staff and become a newshound for one of the four newspapers on this website.
Get a head start by reading through my newspapers here on the website. Then you’ll be ready to become a reporter. You can interview witnesses, create your own front page stories and even write an article for the website which may be published in my newspaper.
But that’s not all. As well as stories there are pictures which spring to life, a timeline, adverts and a great events and venues section to help you plan a trip out with your family to learn even more about the history of your local area.
Whether you think you’re a trainee newshound, a senior journalist, a chief reporter or even a veteran hack you’ll find plenty to do and enjoy on our website.
Good luck newshounds and happy reporting!
